Okay, a couple weeks late already (again), but I've been determined to get caught up. So here we go... ten months!
Grady and Charlotte sure have kept me busy this past month! Chasing around two babies is quite the job, but I have so much fun with them. They really are constantly on the go, getting into everything within reach. They're a little more confident with their newly found skills than I think they should be, which is evident in the bumps and bruises they're constantly sporting these days. I know this is only the beginning! It's so fun for me to see them discovering everything around them.
Things to remember:
..Both Charlotte and Grady are wearing mainly 6 month clothes, but are starting into 9 month stuff, especially Grady, who's a little bit bigger..
..Mealtimes have been awesome with these two. They're such good eaters, and we're having fun introducing new foods to them. Grady gobbles anything up without a second thought. When we give Charlotte something new, she usually pulls a funny face at first, but then goes for it. And they're finally figuring out the finger foods thing. Still working on perfecting it..
..They're also doing great at sleeping through the night still. Occasionally, Charlotte will wake up once, but Grady is good to sleep through her cries until she calms back down..
..These days, Charlotte and Grady can often be found clamoring around at my feet. Apparently, they don't ever want me sweeping or doing the dishes or anything else productive, for that matter. I have to admit, I often put a pause on whatever else I'm doing to scoop up those little bugs for some love and play time. Hence why my house is always a wreck! Oh well :) ..
..When they're not following Bryce or me around, they're following one another. Little sidekicks, those babies are together. They definitely like to crawl around as a team and find ways to play (or harass) with each other..
..Related to that harassing business, we're still breaking up several 'baby fights' a day. Last week, they were both standing by the couch, and Grady straight up started smacking Charlotte on the head over and over with the spatula til I broke that one up..
..Oh, the big plastic spatula is their favorite toy :) ..
..They are also always after each others' binkies, even if they already have one in their mouth. They'll often do a little swap..
..At the moment, Grady is such a mama's boy and Charlotte is a major daddy's girl. Grady is always following me around. He also cries and pitifully crawls over to me whenever something makes him sad, and likes for me to baby him a little. And Charlotte just lights up whenever she gets time with Bryce. He gets the best giggles out of her. I can't ever get enough of seeing and hearing that. We just love being the mommy and daddy to these two..
..They're both snuggle bugs at heart. Grady likes a good cuddle here and there, especially if it's before bedtime, but he's usually more squirmy. Charlotte loves to cuddle pretty much any time..
..We had a couple of Bryce's siblings in town last weekend (more on the fun we had with them to come), and Charlotte & Grady were loving all the extra attention! They miss you, Jordon and Aja!..
.................................
-Grady has mastered crawling! He started to crawl last month, but was quite lazy with it. Now he's a speedy little thing and definitely keeps up with Charlotte.
-He can pull himself up on anything but hasn't really figured out a good way to get back down. He will stand wherever he is... next to a chair, in his crib, by the couch... for a good ten minutes, content, until he realizes he's stuck and will cry until we come save him.
-Still no teeth for this kid... any day now, buddy.
-He loves to be thrown up into the air. Always a sure way to get some good giggles out of him!
-We're going to need to put him in drum lessons as soon as he's able. He is constantly tapping his hand against anything and everything. Or if he has something in his hand (spoon, spatula, paintbrush- his favorite things are random), he taps that on the table or wherever... over and over and over.
-He is quite the feisty stinker! Last month was a little rough with him. He must have been going through a growth spurt or something, but he just wasn't his usual happy self. The past couple weeks or so, he's been much better, thank goodness! Although, it's given me a view into his temper. Whew, makes me worried about the future with him! Hopefully he keeps with his sweetness instead.
-Despite the occasional angry outburst, he's still very smiley, and his little laugh makes up for his feistiness. It's the worlds cutest, and there are few things I love more than hearing him in a giggle fit! :)
...........................
-Charlotte is fearless. She mastered crawling in a couple days, then right away was pulling herself up on things. She absolutely loves to climb! Her favorite thing to climb on? Grady.
-She has her bottom two teeth in! She was a little down in the dumps before they broke though, but she did pretty well... no major teething horrors (yet), thank goodness.
-She was always a noisy milk drinker when she was tiny, and now she's a noisy solid eater... always making 'mmmm' noises with each bite, which I find so adorable.
-We have a bit of a bully issue with Charlotte. She does whatever she wants, with no regard for Grady. Many of the previously mentioned baby fights stem from her. I think Grady is starting to learn how to fight back though. Man oh man, we're gonna be in for it!
-C likes when we gently blow in her face. She leans in and gets the sweetest smiles on her face as she feels that light breeze. Also, when we play outside on windy days, she loves that feeling too. Sometimes I watch her and wonder what's going through her mind as she experiences these new things.
-Charlotte is coming out of her shell more and more. She tends to be a bit shy around new people and situations at first, but warms up quickly, then it's all giggles.
