seven months

The babies are seriously at such a fun stage these days! I am so in love, it's ridiculous, and they're just finding more and more ways to wrap me around their little fingers.

...............................

Things to remember:

..Grady and Charlotte are finally starting to beef up and are (pretty much) comfortably fitting into 6 month clothes... woohoo, catching up!..

..Still in size 2 diapers, size 3 night diapers..

..We've finally introduced solid foods. With them being preemies, the doctor suggested we wait to start them on solids until now. Grady is killing it and loves his baby cereal! He likes to hold onto my hand with the spoon and guide it to his mouth pretty enthusiastically. This means that it ends up getting all over his face because he goes so nuts about it. Charlotte on the other hand... well, we tried solids with her a few times, but I just don't think she's quite ready yet. Hasn't moved past the tongue thrust reflex and doesn't end up swallowing anything. So we'll maybe wait a little bit longer with her..

..They've been sleeping well, but still waking up way too early for me. Six a.m. is not my friend. Guess I better get used to it..

..They're starting into that grab-at-everything stage. It's getting especially difficult to eat with them sitting on our laps!..

..Both are sitting up for short periods of time. Only for a handful of seconds, but still... we're excited..

..Charlotte and Grady came down with sicknesses this month. We all (minus Bryce, lucky duck) got the body flu- fever, sore throat, no appetite, very lethargic. It wasn't any fun! Then the stomach flu came a week later. Boo. Thank goodness for Bryce and all his help! I just felt so bad for the babies..

..We have been getting out and enjoying more activities as a family with the nice weather. It's extra nice because they're usually very well behaved while we're out and about..

..These babies love to watch So You Think You Can Dance. It's pretty dang cute, actually... Lots to be entertained by with all the fun music and sweet dance moves! Charlotte gets particularly excited and lets out squeals while she watches. Maybe this means she'll be a dancer?..

..Grady loves his sister and is always trying to get to her and hang on to her. Charlotte's not a huge fan and gets upset when he starts to get too excited and claws at her. She's a sensitive one..

..G&C's weight difference is getting more and more noticeable, especially when you go from holding one to the other. Grady feels like a tank and Charlotte feels much lighter. Those 2 lb sure make a difference..

..They've had their first mischievous behavior- We had them in their bumbos on the kitchen island. I left the room for a second and heard some rustling and then heard Grady giggling. We peeked in and saw Charlotte's hand in a bowl of tortilla chips. She was pushing the chips around and pulling them out onto the counter while Grady was watching her and cracking up. Oh man, it was pretty dang cute..

.....................................

-Grady weighs almost 16 lbs.
-He has tried so hard to roll back to front for a while now, and has finally figured it out... good boy!
-He is such a wiggle worm when he sleeps, often twisting himself all around and into the crib slats, which gets him upset.
-He has developed a very hoarse and squeaky/scratchy voice. It sounds pretty sad.
-His reflux has finally started to slow down. It's still there and we deal with our fair share of spit-up, but definitely not as bad as it used to be.
-Grades loves to be thrown up into the air and always gets a good laugh from that. He may be our little thrill seeker.
-He is the opposite of Charlotte and is not a happy camper when he first wakes up in the morning or from naps. It's a rare occasion when he wakes up and is content there alone for very long.
-Last month, Grady only had a thing for his left foot, but now he's happy with both feet and likes to grab onto them.
-This boy still gives us the best belly laughs and is always so quick to smile. Give him any kind of attention and he starts hamming it up.

............................

............................

-Charlotte now weighs almost 14 lbs.
-She has finally broken free of her swaddle blanket, as of the beginning of the month, and does great!
-She get these bright red splotchy patches on her face when she cries, especially when she gets really upset.
-C has become quite the whiny little thing. I hear that whine all day, and it's not my favorite... worries me for the future!
-But she has also become so much more smiley and giggly, which is the best. Her big, gummy smiles kill me every time.
-She naps everyday on Mommy and Daddy's bed. I'm okay with this, because I hate to risk the two waking each other up (good naps are very valuable!!). But I'm starting to wonder what I'll do when she really starts rolling around. It's times like this that having twins gets tricky. We're just making it up as we go!
-Charlotte is not a fan of getting dressed, especially having her arms pulled through the sleeves... no matter how gentle we are.
-She is not good at sharing and usually steals every toy away from poor Grady.
-She's developed quite a sweet patch of hair running down the middle of her head... it's her little mohawk. Super cute.

I love your blog. The picture of the two of them holding their left foot had me laughing for about 5 minutes. So adorable. Thanks for all the updates.
