2009 out with a Bang

Getting back into the swing of things here in Cedar, I don't want to forget about the past few weeks, so I thought I should catch up on all the fun we had. The Christmas holiday was packed with events, I barely know where to start....Finals were very hectic, as always, but we survived and were able to wind down towards the end of the week. We drove to St. George to attend the marriage sealing of our friends, Becca and Jeff. It was great to see them so happy, even though the weather was bad and snow was falling on the palm trees! Bryce and I then drove to Centerville where we decided to spend the whole break, since Bryce would be working up there. We had planned to fly out to Wisconsin and spend the holiday with Bryce's family, but everything seemed to be working against us, and it didn't end up coming together. :( Fortunately, we were still able to find fun things to occupy our time.

The first Sunday we were up north, we attended the Mormon Tabernacle Christmas concert. This is one of my favorite holiday traditions, and we were lucky enough to get tickets. Of course, it was an amazing performance and really brought the Christmas spirit!

Later that week, we made it up to This is the Place State Park in Salt Lake. They had the town all set up with beautiful Christmas lights and decorations. Even though it was freezing, we still enjoyed wandering through the historic buildings and even had a visit with Father Christmas. :)

Some of our other days we spent snowboarding, shopping, visiting with family... I was excited for a dinner out with my wonderful girlfriends, and Bryce was looking forward to his real estate exam. Okay, it was actually the opposite in his case, but he took his exam and passed!! Good job, Bryce! This is just one more step toward his goal of getting into the real estate market and flipping houses.

Christmas was pretty low key this year... my siblings were all at their in-laws, my mom spent a few days in Hawaii with her family, and my dad was out flying Christmas eve. So on Christmas Day, Bryce and I opened each others gifts and enjoyed the rest of the morning eating pancakes and relaxing. My dad made it home from work, and Bryce's sister, Hannah, came down from Logan to visit, so it was really nice to have them join us! We were even able to talk to my little brother, Kevin, who's on a mission in Argentina... He sounds great and we're all getting excited for him to come in March!During the next few days, Bryce and I went out to breakfast at Sill's (best scones ever), saw the lights on temple square, went snowshoeing up the canyon, and celebrated us each getting a 4.0 in school by going out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse!

We brought in the new year by partying with Corie & Nolan and Tim & Kathryn. We always have so much fun when we get together, and even all the old boring people made it to midnight! haha. Nolan, Kathryn, Bryce, and I even lasted til 2:30 a.m. playing Mario on the Wii. (It's addictive!) I'm very excited for 2010... We've set a lot of goals, and I know it will be a great year!! 'Hope you all have a wonderful year as well!

Wow, you guys really did do a lot of things in just a few weeks! We miss you & the Hoff. Why don't you guys just move in and be our live-in babysitters? Haha. Hopefully we'll get to see you at the end of the month! (p.s. Lauren, you are definitely the cute one. You are so gorgeous in all these pictures!)
